Based in Paris, Lebanese screenwriter Joëlle Touma draws on her experience as a journalist, actor, and television host in Beirut to create richly authentic stories. Her writing credits include the Academy Award-nominated The Insult (2017), the Canal+ spy series The Bureau (2015–2020), Ziad Doueiri's The Attack (2012) and Lila Says (2004), and Rachid Bouchareb's Just Like a Woman (2012). She teamed up with Greg Barker to write the limited series Ghosts of Beirut (2023), a spy thriller for Showtime/Paramount. Currently, Touma is currently writing La Grace, a feature-length screenplay to be directed by Sarah Marx.
