Always passionate about special effects, Hugues Namur took a detour into graphic design before returning to audiovisual work in 1995. From motion graphics for television to matte painting and then to computer-generated images for commercials, Hugues utilized early versions of Photoshop, After Effects, and Maya as an alternative to expensive emerging digital workstations. In the 2000s, this approach made deploying large teams to create visual effects for cinema more feasible. In 2005, Namur joined the team of Mikros VFX, which became MPC Paris in 2021. He has since contributed to more than 80 feature-length films and, more recently, series such as Amazon’s Totems, France Télévisions’ Around the World in 80 Days, and Apple TV’s The Hunt, premiering on December 3rd, 2025.
