
After obtaining a PhD in literature and working in television, Raphaëlle Desplechin worked with developing writers at several production companies before becoming a screenwriter herself. She has written or co-written the scripts for Ursula Meier’s Home; Mathieu Amalric’s On Tour, which won the Best Director Award at the Festival de Cannes in 2010; Brice Cauvin's The Easy Way Out; Emmanuelle Cuau's Not on My Watch; Guillaume Senez's Our Struggles, which won the 2019 Magritte Award for Best Film; Lou Jeunet's Curiosa; Elie Grappe's Olga, which won the SACD Award in La Semaine de la Critique at Cannes in 2021; Dinara Droukarova’s Woman at Sea, which was presented at the San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2022; and Gilles Perret’s The Takeover. Desplechin has taught screenwriting at ECAL in Lausanne and lectures regularly at La Femis and CinéFabrique.
