After international academic studies in economics, Sarah Chazelle gathered 10 years’ experience in the media and film industry in various countries before co-founding the film distribution company Jour2fête in 2006 and the sales agency The Party Film Sales, created when the two companies Jour2Fête and Doc & Film sales merged in 2020. Chazelle has worked on the French and worldwide releases of many films, among them Kaouther Ben Hania’s Four Daughters (2023 - Competition, Festival de Cannes), and Beauty and the Dogs (2017); Mounia Meddour’s Papicha (2017 - Un Certain Regard, Festival de Cannes); Mehdi Barsaoui’s A Son (2018 - Orizzonti, Venice International Film Festival); Damien Ounouri et Adila Bendimerad’s The Last Queen (2022), also presented in the Orizzonti programme; and Erige Sehiri’s Under the Fig Trees (2022) and Youssef Chebbi’s Ashkal (2022), both of which were selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes.
