Lamia Bengelloun

DIRECTOR

"I tell intimate stories exploring family, identity, and memory. I’m drawn to flawed characters and poetic, tender mise-en-scène. I believe cinema can shift perceptions and spark change."

Lamia Bengelloun studied filmmaking in London and screenwriting, production, and directing at the Sorbonne. She worked at Ali n’ Productions on the development and production of Maryam Touzani’s The Blue Caftan and Calle Malaga, and Nabil Ayouch’s Everybody Loves Touda. Her first short film, Destiny’s Strings, starring Nisrin Erradi, screened at several international festivals. She also programmed Ciné-Théâtre Lutetia, where she launched a podcast on arthouse cinema. Her second short, Three Sisters, is currently in production.
