Ama Ampadu is a senior production and development executive at the BFI Filmmaking Fund. She has worked as an independent producer on UK and international projects for over 12 years and produced Yared Zeleke’s Lamb (2015), the first Ethiopian film selected for the official line-up at the Festival de Cannes, when it was presented in Un Certain Regard. Ampadu is an associate producer of Mati Diop’s Dahomey, which won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. She is the executive producer of numerous BFI-backed titles, including Harris Dickinson’s Urchin, Akinola Davis Jr.’s My Father’s Shadow, Imran Perretta’s Ish, Laura Carreira’s On Falling, as well as Santosh by Sandhya Suri, Rose of Nevada by Mark Jenkin, Palestine 36 by Annemarie Jacir, and Bijan Sheibani’s forthcoming debut feature, The Arrival.
