
A graduate of studies in law, film studies, and cultural management, Karim Aïtouna is a producer based in France and Morocco with a portfolio that spans fiction and documentary, reflecting his commitment to supporting diverse storytelling across borders. His projects have screened at festivals including the Festival de Cannes, the Berlin, Venice, and Toronto International Film Festivals and the Sundance Film Festival. Among others, his credits as a producer include: Anna Roussillon’s award-winning I Am the People (2014), which was presented at Cannes; David Yon’s The Night and the Kid (2015), which was selected for the Berlinale; Philip Scheffner’s Europe (2022), also a Berlinale selection; and Amel Guellaty’s Where the Wind Comes From (2025), which was presented at Sundance; Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke’s A Useful Ghost (2025), which was awarded the Grand Prix Ami in La Semaine de la Critique at Cannes; and Vladlena Sandu’s Memory (2025), which screened in Venice. Aitouna is a member of EAVE and EURODOC. He is a consultant and speaker for numerous funds, labs, and festivals, among others IFFR Pro Days at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, EFM Toolbox at the Berlinale, the Red Sea Film Fund, and the Nouveau Marché at the Festival de Nouveau Cinema de Montreal.
