Four films previously selected at the Atlas Workshops make it to Cannes!

4 films supported by the Marrakech Festival Atlas Worshops premiering at Cannes Festival with a historic Moroccan presence this year. 
 
Presented twice at the Atlas Workshops, THE MOTHER OF ALL LIES by Asmae El Moudir won the Development Award in 2019 and the Post-Production Award in 2021. Kamal Lazraq's LES MEUTES (The Packs) won the ArteKino International Award in 2019. Both films will be presented in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in May. Selected for the Critics' Week, INSHALLAH A BOY by Amjad Al Rasheed, winner of the 2022 Atlas Workshops Post-Production award, is the first Jordanian film to ever take part in the Cannes Film Festival.Finally, Faouzi Bensaïdi's DESERTS, which was presented in the Atlas Film Showcase section in Marrakech last November, will be screened during the Directors' Fortnight.
 
The Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation congratulates all the filmmakers and salutes the vitality of Moroccan cinema which had never been present with 3 films in Cannes the same year.

The Mother of All lies by Asmae El Moudir, winner of the Atlas Workshops Development Award in 2019 and the Post-Production Award in 2021, wins the Directing Prize at the Un certain regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.

Hounds by Kamal Lazraq, winner of the ArteKino International Prize in 2019, wins the Jury Prize at the Un certain regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.
