Boyd van Hoeij has been in charge of programming at the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg since the end of 2022. Before occupying his current position, he was the Luxembourg City Film Festival’s artistic advisor, president of the Selection Committee of the Luxembourg Film Fund and critic for specialised film magazines such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. His film reviews are these days published in Screen. He has taught film criticism workshops and conducted shot-by-shot analyses of film classics in countries as varied as Lithuania, Ireland, Portugal, Hungary and the U.S. and has moderated masterclasses with the likes of Todd Haynes, Quentin Tarantino, Asghar Farhadi and Luca Guadagnino.
