After studies in philosophy, followed by several years as an assistant editor and director, Catherine Zins became a chief editor in 1978. She has edited films by directors including Fleur Albert, Robert Bober, Christophe Cognet, Jérôme de Missolz, René Ferret, JC Klotz, Marcel Ophüls, Claire Simon and Jean Rochefort, Ruth Zylberman, and most recently by Didier Nion (The Voyage of the Hérétique / Naufragé volontaire, 2017),  Delphine Gleize (Beau joueur, 2019 ), Dima El-Horr (Zeinab on the Red Scooter / Zeinab al moto, 2019) and Christophe Cognet (A pas aveugle, 2020). Since 1983, Zins has also been directing documentary films, several of which are devoted to music or art. She has been in charge of the selection of the États généraux du film documentaire film festival in Lussas, France, and has led documentary writing workshops. She currently directs the editing department at La Fémis in Paris.
