Claude Le Pape was born in Normandy in 1985. She graduated from La Fémis in 2011, and since then has worked with colleagues she met at school: with Hubert Charuel on his short films K-Nada (2014) and Fox Terrier (2017), and his feature-length film Bloody Milk (Petit Paysan, 2017); with Thomas Cailley on his short film Paris-Shanghai (2011) and on his feature Love at First Fight (Les Combattants, 2014); and with the producer Saïd Hamich on Walid Mattar’s feature debut, Northern Wind (Vent du Nord, 2017). She also worked for television on the two seasons of the series Hippocrate (2018-19) by Thomas Lilti. After making her first short film, Cajou (2018), she directed La Maison (pas très loin du Donegal) (2019), which was honoured with two Special Mentions at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2020 and won the Special Jury Award at the Nice International Film Festival the same year.
